Comanche Indians

-They didn’t have a specific religion they
-In the 1700’s they were hunters and gatherers .
believed in war instead for the glory and
spiritual improvement it gave.
-They first lived in the Crow, Cherokee, Creek,
Choctaw, and Apache lands.
-Portable housing was important because
they were always on the move.
-From 1800-1900 they lived in the Southern
Great Plains (Texas, etc.)
-This tribe lacked elaborate rituals compared
to other tribes.
-Uto-Aztecan was their primary language.
-Trade was a huge part of Comanche life.
-Woman were assigned to be in charge of the
house.
-They used every part of buffalo to create
clothing, food, housing, etc.
-Men went to war and hunted.
-All “crafts: they made had to be sturdy and
