WHY DO WE NEED THIS STUDY?

WHAT DID THE 2013 RESULTS SAY?

US ranked 36/64 (below average) in Math among most developed countries US ranked 24 in Reading (same since 2003) US ranked 28 in Science Overall Rankings, between Slovak republic and Lithuania, 2 below Russia.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

What does it mean? Money Argument: While the US spends more per student than most countries that does not translate into better performance. For example, the Slovak republic, which spends around USD 53,000 per student performs at the same level as the United States which spends USD 115,000 per student. Interpretation that it does not reflect overall quality of education
Discussion of sample: are we comparing apples to apples?

Ie. Shanghai sample of Chinese population? vs American schools.
