Week 14 I have a few hours left towards my internship hours.

I thought Id never see the completion of my required 120 hours but here I am with only two hours left. This week I completed the response to an evaluation we had at the Federalsburg Judy Center called the ITERS (Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale). The ITERS Assessment is designed to assess center-based child-care programs for infants and toddlers up to 30 months of age. The assessment consists of 39 items organized into 7 subscales: Space and Furnishings, Personal Care Routines, Listening and Talking, Activities, Interaction, Program Structure and Parents and Staff. Several observers are present during the assessment. Their job is to rate each item on the scale and write specific examples for each item. Then they send a plan of action within a week to indicate areas of concern. Once the center receives the plan of action, they must respond within two weeks with the following: Improvement Strategies and how they will be monitored. Again, this was another great learning tool for me to be involved in. The director required me to complete the entire process. She reviewed it and was able to use what I had written up in the action plan to forward to the Delegate.
