John Edwards has a bold plan

to end poverty within 30 years.

¾ Jobs: 1 million “Stepping Stone Jobs,” a higher
minimum wage, and stronger labor laws to give more
willing workers a way out of poverty

¾ Opportunity: More help with affordable housing and

investment in rural America to give low-income families
better access to good jobs and good schools

¾ Security: New “Work Bonds” and tax credits to promote

savings and subsidized bank accounts and national rules
to protect families against abusive lending

¾ Education: Make college more affordable, create

second chances for high school dropouts, and reform K-
12 public education to give all Americans a shot at the
American dream

¾ Responsibility: Help fathers find work and take

responsibility, tax breaks to ease the strain on families,
and investments in programs to reduce teen pregnancy
