Application for Habitat for Humanity Vice President Shadow My name is Sebastian Lara, and I am a junior here at Cambridge.

I believe that I have numerous qualities that would contribute to the fact that I make a good candidate to fill the position of Vice Presidents shadow and as the future Vice President in the Habitat for Humanity Club at Cambridge. As a junior, I am an upperclassman and have really developed skills such as time management, and in general have reached a point in my high school career where I feel comfortable taking on more responsibility. I feel that I am a good leader as is shown through my involvement in the Beta Club as president for two consecutive years. I have also participated in other service groups and projects through the Young Mens Service League, as well as church and other philanthropies. I am also president of the college club and an activist in many other clubs such as the French Honors Society and Art Honors Society. I understand the importance of caring about a group as a whole. This is a skill I developed through my close interaction with the swim team. As for personal qualities, I am a proud bilingual, soon to be trilingual honors student. I speak English, Spanish and have completed up to a level three French class. This would allow for great communication with people of other nationalities and would aid the club in overcoming challenges when interacting with people of other nationalities. Another useful ability that I have that could be beneficial to the club is the fact that I am an artist. I have competed in numerous art competitions and am aiming to take an AP Art class in my senior year. I think that I would be a very valuable asset to the club for many reasons. I really enjoy community service and think that doing something for someone else is a really great experience. I am great at public speaking and have great communication skills. I feel comfortable in a crowd of peers and feel that I really enjoy being around people. I hope to be able to have an active voice in the club and feel that the skills I have to offer as an officer would be ones that truly benefit the club.
