This committee has papers very similar to the policy papers that delegates may have written before.

There is no requirement as far as spacing goes, but please do not exceed five pages double-spaced. At the top of your paper you will place a heading like so: Committee Name: International Criminal court Committee Topic: Sponsored By: Justice Shaikh Following the above and your heading (Preliminary Opinion), delegates must include the following sections: Background of Case UN Involvement Preliminary Opinion Questions for Witnesses Works Cited

Background of Case:

Om What effect have their actions had on the international community? Of what crimes is the defendant accused? Has the defendant violated international laws and treaties? If so, which ones?

UN Involvement: This section will include all the actions the UN has taken to solve this issue in the past. UN Documents that pertain to the case will also be mentioned in this section. Preliminary Opinion: This section will state your opinion of what justice should be meted out to the defendant based on your research. Your preliminary opinion will include what you think should be done (or not done, if the defendant is found not guilty) and why. Be very specific and logical when trying to decide the defendants fate. This is supposed to be an impartial ruling by an unbiased panel of Justices. Questions for Witnesses: Delegates will be asked to provide a set of at least three questions per witness (which were provided in the topic synopsi for the ICC committee). Though you will not be able to speak with the witnesses until the committee, this section will prepare you for the questions you

will ask in committee. Please try to be specific and insightful in your questions. Include this in a section below your Preliminary Opinion. Works Cited: Every delegate MUST CITE SOURCES. A list of links at the bottom of the page is fine.
