Overview
Students will be able to sing the Lunch Time Song to the tune of Frare Jacque.

Song lesson
Grade Level: Pre-K through Kindergarten Time: 10 Minutes Laura Volkening

Objectives
1. After listening to Frare Jacques, students will be able to learn the melody of the song for the song I will be teaching them. 2. Students will be able to keep up with the song because of its familiar tune despite the new words.

Materials:
YouTube videos: Frere Jacques Song

Activities/Procedure
1. Have the students listen to the song Frare Jacques. 2. Tell students to really pay attention to the tune of the song instead of the words. 3. After finishing the song, tell the students that we are going to sing a song with the same tune. 4. Sing the Lunch Time song to the students. 5. Show the motions to the song the second time you sing to the students. 6. Each time the song states Yummy yummy yummy, in my tummy have students rub their stomachs in a circular form. 7. Begin practicing the song with the students as a whole .

Extensions/Teaching Tips
1. Take a new song slowly, especially with a younger age. 2. Make sure you are over accentuating your movements so that the students realize they are supposed to be doing them to. 3. When having the students sing this song, they should be lined up and ready to go to lunch.
