IMPACT OF GOALS FROM TWO PLAYERS ON THE TOTAL GOALS OF TEAM.

FC Barcelona wanted to see the effect of goals from Lionel Messi and David Villa on the total goals of the club each season, and how their goals affect their performances at the end of each match and season. The clubs Statisticians have collected data from previous years The Data is shown below:

To find how much the team depends on goals from these two players the statisticians applied regression analysis the above data.

Where total goals are the dependent variable and David Villa and Lionel Messis goals are independent variables... Using spss the following results were obtained:Model Summary Mode l Std. Error R Adjusted R of the Square Square Estimate

1 .732a .535 .402 69.596 a. Predictors: (Constant), messi goals, villa goals Interpretation: So this model summary mean that these two players goals contributes 40.2% to total goals of team and other goals are due to other players.

Coefficient Unstandardized Standardized Coefficients Coefficients Model 1 (Constant) Villas goals B Std. Error 273.434 88.651 1.528 1.322 Beta t 3.084 .304 1.156 .607 -2.309 Sig. .018 .286 .054

Messi 3.426 1.484 goals a. Dependent Variable: total goals Equation: Y= o + 1(X1) + 2(X2) + Where Y= team goals (dependent variable)

o = constant 1 = coefficient of villas goals

X1 = Villas goals (variable)

2 = coefficient of goals by Messi

X2 = Messis goals (variable)

Interpretation:

And this table mean that here we will get interpretation from the beta value so here we will find out that which player contribute more so here if we see messi goals contributes more to team total goals.

Y= o + 1(X1) + 2(X2) +

Y = 273.434 + 1.528(X1) + 3.426(X2)
