The Difference Between The Flapper Valves
The Difference Between The Flapper Valves
THE QUESTION?
What is the difference between the flapper valves in Cells 3,2, 6 and 8 compared to those located in Cells 4 and 5. As we see in the diagram.
THE ANSWER;
The first point hat we can figure it, that both Flapper Valves of Collector Cells are solid, where the others have hole in mid of the Valve. The picture shows the solid Flap Valve of collector tank in blue circle and the hollow one in the red circles.

Physically, the difference
CONTINUED;
The second point is the function. Basally, we can say that the Flap Valve of Collector Cell works as a Check Valve (CV), in one direction. And the other works as a 2 direction CV. During refueling, the fuel pass from the Cell (1 and 7) readily to the other Cells to fill them through the Flapper Valves, which move up to allow fuel flow to enter the cell. When the refueling is finish, the flaps of Flapper Valves move down.
Why?;
I will try to make it in points, for both type of valves.
WHY?
The Collector Cell:
To keep the fuel inside the cell to splay the Fuel Boosts Pumps and to permit the function of the Level control Valve and the Fuel Low-Level Switch.
Either, to keep the fuel inside the cell during flight maneuvering. The Fuel Cells: To allow the fuel to flow inside the cell, during refueling. And to feed the motive line through the Ejector, during system operation.
