The Harmonium is one of India's most popular instruments.

Its origins are

associated with the Western influx into India probably back in the 15th century (if my dates are correct). It entered India via the Christian missionaries.

The Bul Bul Tarang is a very interesting and a relatively newer instrument to the Indian music scene. It was a really fun instrument to play. Some of these come with piano style keys and others come with typewriter type keys.

The dholak is one of the most widely utilized drums in the folk music of India. It has also found a permanent home in most of the recording and broadcast environments. Applications range from dance music such as bhangra and garba to devotional bhajans and keertans.

Dilruba: "Dil" means heart and "rubha" means enchanter. "That which enchants the heart" is what this instrument is named after. It is truly a magical instrument. It is considered a mixture of two instruments the sitar and sarangi.

Flute The Indian Bamboo Flute also known as bansuri or murali is one of the oldest musical instruments of India, developed independently of the Western flute. This wind instrument is a simple cylindrical tube made of bamboo of uniform bore with number of holes.

Khartal or Kartal is an ancient instrument mainly used in devotional songs in India. It falls under the class of idiophones of self-sounding instruments that combine properties of vibrator and resonator.

Tabla Pair's Tabla is basically a set of two drums known as Dayan (right) or the Tabla and the Bayan (left) or the Duggi. Dayan or tabla is a cylindrical, wooden drum made of black wood and played with the right hand and Bayan or duggi- the left hand drum is made of metal, wood, or ceramic has slightly conical and bowl shape.
