Massage is effective in reducing distress and pain Teach significant others to use cognitive-behavioural strategies such as positive coping statements such as I am a brave girl/boy and rewards of bravery tokens for appropriate behaviour Cognitive-behavioural strategies appear to be effective interventions Client demonstrates reduced fear
