Methodology

Procedures
1.Prepare two sets of 6 test tubes . 2.Fill the first 6 test tubes with 5ml of diastase solution and the second set of test tubes with 5ml of distilled water. 3.Put one of each test tubes into 6 different water baths of ;10degrees,40 degrees, 60 degrees,80 degrees and 100 degrees.Measure the temperatures using thermometer. 4.Leave the test tubes for 10 miutes. 5.After 10 mins,take out each test tubes and let them cool at room temperature. 6.Drop 5ml of starch into each test tubes. 7.Add iodine solution to a few drops of each of the solutions to test availability of starch.Then, leave it for 30 minutes. 8.Record the observation.

Materials
5ml of diastase, 5ml of distilled water, iodine solution, 5ml of starch.

Apparatus
2 set of 6 test tubes,stopwatch,dropper,water bath, thermometer,test tube rack.
