Blacksburg Police Investigates Fatal Traffic Crash Blacksburg, Virginia, December 21, 2013 On December 20, 2013, at 10:00 pm, Blacksburg Police, Fire, and Rescue responded to the intersection of N. Main Street and West U.S. 460 Bypass for a traffic crash. Preliminary investigation at the scene revealed Timothy R. Kzinowek, 25, of Blacksburg was operating a 1999 Saturn station wagon and was attempting to make a left turn from N. Main Street onto east bound U.S. 460 Bypass. Daniel R. Eubank, Jr., operating a 2013 GMC SUV was traveling west bound on U.S. 460 Bypass . Kzinoweck pulled into the pathway of Eubanks vehicle and was struck in the drivers side. Blacksburg Rescue transported Kzinoweck to Lewis-Gale Hospital Montgomery (LGHM) where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Blacksburg Rescue also transported a passenger from Kzinoweks vehicle, Eubank and three passengers from his vehicle to LGHM. All five were treated and released. Members of the Blue Ridge Regional Crash Team responded to investigate the crash, which is still ongoing. Traffic in the west bound lane of U.S. 460 Bypass was reduced to one lane for several hours.
