7/8S D ECEMBER NEWS

GRADE 8 FUNDRAISER
The grade 8 students will be holding a bazaar on December 17th and 18th to raise money towards their grade 8 graduation trip. There will be numerous types of holiday crafts and items for sale. Some examples of the crafts and items for sale are; ornaments, scarves, ``reindeer`` hot chocolate, key chains and various types of jewelry items. The grade 8`s, along with their grade 7 peers, will also be holding a bake sale on these dates as another way to raise funds for the graduation trip. It is an excellent opportunity for the 7`s to contribute and learn what they will be expected to do next year to raise money for their own graduation trip. Please consider preparing some treats with your child to assist our fundraising efforts. Thank you in advance for your support.

We will be working on a song and skits that highlight the key components of being organized. Our class will share our song and skits at the December assembly.

MATH NEWS
WE WILL BE WRAPPING UP OUR MATH UNITS ON COMPOSITE SHAPES IN GRADE 7 AND EXPLORING AREA AND CIRCUMFERENCE OF CIRCLES IN GRADE 8.
NEXT, WE WILL BE STUDYING HOW TO COLLECT,DISPLAY, ANALYSE AND INTERPRET DATA ON GRAPHS.

LANGUAGE NEWS
IN 7-8S, WE WILL BE LEARNING ABOUT; MAKING INFERENCES, WRITING FROM AN ALTERNATE POINT OF VIEW AND LISTENING EFFECTIVELY.

HOLIDAY CONCERT Our class will be performing a song in the holiday concert. The concert takes place on December 12th, from 6pm-8pm. Please join us for this wonderful night.

Student of the Month Assembly

The character building focus for December is ORGANIZATION. In 7-8S, we will be discussing and practising strategies to remain organized.
