In the Classroom we are Reading: Tall Tale Strategies/Skills Main Idea and Details

Making the Shift This week we will read our first in class nonfiction story. Please make sure students read at least one other nonfiction text this week. Discuss and write about the main idea. We will begin timed math fact this week. According to the standards students need to be fluent in addition and subtraction facts 020 by the end of second grade. This means no more fingers and requires a lot of practice. Please encourage use of mental mastery of these facts through games and everyday interactions. Thank you ***Volunteers Wanted***

Math Concept: Topic 8- Two-Digit Addition Please review papers that are sent home. Some students are having a hard time with this concept. Writing: Report Writing Social Studies focus: Researching Countries Science focus: Animals New Spelling list will be a review of long/short e.

Upcoming Events December 6-Interims issued **When passing out the interims I realized only the math was included. A corrected copy will be sent home on Monday. December 21-Winter Break
