(b) Discuss voltage and current waveforms of DC series motor and also speed - torque characteristics with fully controlled converter. (a) Explain four quadrant operations of DC motors by dual converter. (b) Discuss the closed loop operation of a DC motor with block diagram. (a) Explain two and four quadrant chopper fed DC series motor. (b) Discuss output voltage and current waveforms of DC drives with chopper fed DC separately excited motor. (a) Discuss the control of induction motor with stator voltage. (b) Discuss speed - torque characteristics with variable stator voltage of an induction motor. (a) Explain variable frequency control of induction motor by voltage source inverter. (b) Discuss the closed loop operation of induction motor drives. (a) Explain the performance and speed - torque characteristics of static Scherbius drive and static Kramer drive. (b) Give a short note on static rotor resistance control and slip power recovery. (a) Explain the operation of self controlled synchronous motors by voltage source inverter. (b) Discuss wave forms, speed - torque characteristics of load commutated CSI fed synchronous motor.
