Installation: RAR Extract all files to the same folder and run setup.exe. CDROM Setup should autorun when the CD is loaded. After installation of the program copy the Single Player Maps Folder (and the Shortolas.chr and Shagrat.mon files if you want to use these pre-generated characters and monsters) to your hard dri ve. The program requires the microsoft net framework 2.0 to run. If your computer does not have this installed setup will download and install it automatically (this can take up to 30 minutes depending on your internet connection speed and how many other programs are using the internet at the time). Once .net has been installed the MERPA program will be installed (this should only take about 10 seconds). If you get a message asking if you want to install because the program is not digitally signed just say 'yes'. Included in the rar file are a character file and a monster file. Character File: Shortolas.chr Contains: Shortolas - Dunedain Ranger Amras - Sindar Elf Animist Feanor - Noldor Elf Mage Hambut - Hobbit Scout Hubert - Half Elf Warrior Monster File: Shagrat.mon Contains: Shagrat - Orc Warrior Gorbag - Orc Scout Krull - Troll Warrior Snaga - Orc Scout Dantrang - Uruk Hai Warrior Growler - Warg If you want to jump in and see what the program can do without having to set up your own characters and monsters just load these files (via the Character and Monster menus). Also in the rar file is a sample story (where the characters and monsters meet and have a fight) and a custom map (Gridfield.jpg) This is just a blank field with a grid on for use as a playing aid. (In the custom map screen load Gridfield and place the markers to show character/monster positions). The Single Player Maps folder contains custom maps for the 21 types of room foun d in the single player dungeon (Challenge Of The Valar) part of the program.
