The voice is our PRIMARY communication tool. It EXPRESS our commands, needs, desires and emotions. Losing our voice could REDUCE our ability to communicate and lower our self-esteem. Suffering from an illness affects our voice a lot such as problems in the way we use our voices, our lifestyle or catch a cold. Being aware of the facts can help us avoid problems altogether.
HOW TO PREVENT?
What can I do to take good care of my
voice?
AWARENESS! PREVENT problems before they occur. Avoid DAIRY, TEA, COFFEE, ALCOHOL before singing. NO SWEETS/CANDY! ALWAYS drink LOADS and LOADS of plain water; and WARM water before you start singing. The warmer the better. Avoid talking LOUD and SHOUTING. EXERCISE if possible. Perhaps a small exercise and get sweat can help change a lot bit by bit. DO NOT over use your voice on something not important. Especially when you have occasion to sing in. LOVE your voice. Always have ENOUGH REST and SLEEP EARLY.
