Materials: Student copies of Hamlet Procedures: Warm Up: Review beginning of Act 5 Scene 1 Guided Reading: Continue reading Act 5 Scene 1 What is Hamlets opinion on death? Does he express these views earlier in the play? How does Hamlet react to Ophelias death? How does Laertes react to Hamlet at the graveyard? Continue comparison of Laertes and Hamlet Begin reading scene 2 until Osric enters What does Hamlet say about Fate vs. free will? Which does he believe guides him? Homework: Continue reading until Osric exits Assessment: Participation in reading and discussion Standards:
