Date 27th April, 2013 Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to apply for admission to the Master's Degree

Programme in Quantity Surveying at University of West of England. I have graduated from Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), in March 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and Environmental Technology. I would like to continue my education in order to gain better knowledge and vision. I believe that academic as well as professional backgrounds make me an ideal candidate for this masters program. I have always been interested in Project Management and Geotechnical Engineering. Currently I am working at Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) on the post of Tutorial Assistant, Department of Construction Management. Before starting this job I have been working for one year at Saint Joseph Integrated Technical College (SJITC) where I have been a Tutor and Head of Department of Civil Engineering. The experience and exposure that I had in the line of work has made me want to pursue a career in Project Management or in Geotechnical Engineering, I believe that there is much work to do in that area and it is in my passion to contribute and join the efforts of many other colleagues through research and active participation. My career aspirations after graduating are to continue my career of teaching in universities, colleges or schools, I would also be very inclined to seek work in research and further my studies through a PhD. Therefore I will be boosting my life conditions, my family and my country in general. I have enough prerequisites in connection with Quantity Surveying due to the courses learnt in Bachelor degree. My studies at the Graduate Institute will unquestionably help facilitate my future into any organization/university as a result of the intellectual growth I will experience.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon NIYITEGEKA Tutorial Assistant at KIST KIGALI-RWANDA
