General Application Procedures

Submit official SAT/ACT scores to FIU (Not required for transfer students with 60 or more semester hours). www.collegeboard.com or www.act.org Contact your high school/university to send official transcripts. Public Florida Schools must send transcripts electronically (High school transcript not required for transfer student with 60 semester hours or more). Submit all other tests/college credit (Examples include International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, CLEP). GED Applicants must submit your official GED test score results and GED Certificate. TOEFL scores are required unless you come from a country in which the official language is English or your school is accredited in the United States. (500 paper based, 173 computer based or 63 Internet-Based Test). www.toefl.org Submit Official high/secondary school transcripts. Translations are required if your official transcripts are not in English. Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges/universities must be in a sealed envelope from the institution along with a course by course evaluation including U.S. GPA is required through a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services organization. www.naces.org Students requesting an I-20 form in order to obtain an international student visa (F-1) must provide a Declaration and Certification of Finances/Bank Letter/ Sponsor letter. The DCF form can be found at http://admissions.fiu.edu/how/forms/dcf.pdf F-1 students transferring from another institution in the United States, must also provide F-I Student Transfer Form - http://admissions.fiu.edu/how/forms/transfer.pdf Proof of medical insurance must be provided to the University Health Services before registering for classes. http://www.fiu.edu/~health/internationalStudent.htm All Degree-Seeking Students claiming Florida residency must provide physical proof and documents as required by State Law. http://admissions.fiu.edu/costs/General_Overview.php In order to reserve your place in the class, submit your $200 non-refundable Admissions deposit. Checking your Admission Status and To Do List

All students that have submitted an application can view their admissions status and missing items from their file by logging into their MyFIU account. You can log in at https://my.fiu.edu with your seven-digit FIU Panther ID and password which is your date of birth (mmddyyyy).
