Forces Gravity Gravity is the attracting force that pulls objects down towards to the earth.

Objects in the earths atmosphere fall at 9.8m/s/s.

Air resistance Air resistance is the opposing force against gravity. EX- parachute

Terminal velocity When air resistance is equal to gravity.

Law of motion An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stay in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Newtons 1st law or the law of inertia.

Newtons second law- the acceleration of a object is equal to the net force acting on it divided by the objects mass. Formula: a=F/m or F=ma Acceleration is affected by: Size of force and the mass of the object.

Momentum Momentum is the force or speed of movement. More mass equals more momentum and more velocity also equals more momentum. Momentum is also conserved. Formula: P= momentum (kg times m/s) M= mass (kg) V= velocity (m/s) P= mv
