Benchmark: Academic Exhibit: Romeo + Juliet Essay, Hiroshima Essay

I have chosen to use my Romeo + Juliet Examination Essay from English 9, as well as my Hiroshima Essay from Historical Fiction in order to convey my clear understanding of English/Language Arts. The Romeo + Juliet essay required me to critically examine Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet, and compare and contrast the play with the modern film Romeo + Juliet. The Hiroshima essay required me to examine the decision to detonate a nuclear bomb over Hiroshima during the Second World War, and decide whether this decision was necessary, correct, and what implications it had on the future.

These assignments have taught me exceedingly valuable lessons in many areas. They have not only bettered my understanding of how to write a good and effective essay, but also how to think critically, and proceed to convey those ideas in writing. These assignments have also helped me to communicate better in writing.

The lessons I have learned from these assignments will help me very much in the future. Writing well and having the ability to convey ideas effectively in writing are abilities that are absolutely essential in my chosen profession (elected official). These lessons will help me to write bills, opinion pieces, and eloquent speeches, which will make me a much more effective leader.
