CITY OF RICHARDSON HOLDS RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING COMMUNITY MEETINGS

City Asking for Residents Recycling Input
(Richardson, TX) The City of Richardson will host three community meetings to receive input from residents in an effort to increase residential recycling and decrease recycling barriers. Meetings will be hosted on different nights throughout the city in order to provide residents the option to attend the meeting that best works for them. The purpose of the community meetings will be to gather information from residents on Richardsons recycling program, including: what they like, common barriers for recycling, possible solutions to recycling barriers, and the most effective way to communicate recycling information to residents. Were in the process of finding ways to increase and improve recycling in Richardson and these community meetings are an important way to help us do that, said Assistant City Manager Don Magner. We are trying to develop insight and better understanding as to how people currently use our recycling program and what we can do to make it easier for them. These community meetings will be combined with other outreach we are doing to create our community recycling profile and the information will be used to develop future initiatives to help make important improvements to our recycling program. Three community meetings have been scheduled (see below). In addition to the community meetings a citywide survey has also been published online at cor.net/recyclingsurvey and in the Citys Richardson Today newsletter.
