Mayor Gloria to Present the State of City Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

SAN DIEGO (January 13, 2014) Interim San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria will present the annual State of the City address on Wednesday, January 15 at 6:00 p.m. at the Balboa Theatre, 868 Fourth Avenue. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the speech. The event is free and no registration is necessary. For those unable to attend, the address will stream live on the Citys website, www.sandiego.gov, and will be seen on City TV approximately one hour following its conclusion. The City Charter requires the State of the City to be presented by January 15 of each year. The Mayor is expected to highlight achievements made through working together with the City Council in recent months and provide a vision for creating a great city. Specific issues he will likely highlight for action include homelessness, the Climate Action Plan, infrastructure funding, and the minimum wage. Members of the media will be granted load-in access to the theatre from 4:00 6:00 p.m. Live camera shots from inside the theatre will be allowed only before the speech begins.
