INTRODUCTION
Tele-presence virtual presence at a remote location. Video conferencing on wheels. Can be used for security purposes and keeping track of employees in a company Can include color tracking ,automatic obstacle detection, voice recording, motion detection etc.

BASIC CONSTRUCTION
Bot is made up of a 3 wheel platform. Consists of the low power intel atom Desktop board. Camera mounted on stepper motor for 180 degree view. DC motor is used to drive the bot. UPS to power up the Intel motherboard Atmega 8 is used for controlling the wheels and camera.

SOFTWARE

Operating system used is Ubuntu(free and open source) Python programming is used for starting up the required applications. Skype is the platform used for video conferencing in WAN mode. Arduino IDE is used for programming the Atmega 8( fast and simple)

MODES OF OPERATIONS
LAN Mode The bot is remotely connected to the LAN network using SSH. Connections can be through Bluetooth, Wifi, etc. Video can be streamed easily in Ubuntu using Video Lan or other applications. Bot and camera motion is achieved using messages sent through the

WAN Mode The bot is connected to the through Internet. Upon start up it is configured to automatically sign in to Skype. Skype is used for video conferencing. Chat messages in Skype is used to control the bot movement and camera rotation.

CONCLUSION
A robot which can be controlled in both LAN and WAN was developed. Wan mode makes a user to control the robot from anywhere around the globe where internet is available. Can be used for security purposes and continuous monitoring of events.
