Dobro Workshop with Glen Crain

Glen Crain has been around music all his life. He started playing drums as a small child, and as a teenager learned to play bass. At the age of 25, he started learning DOBRO and lap steel. Glen has performed with numerous bands over the years and enjoys all types of music. But, his passion is bluegrass. He spent ten years with a Greenville, SC based bluegrass band called The New Dixie Storm. Playing with Adkins and Loudermilk is like getting together with old friends and playing music. These guys are fun. Ive always loved family harmony, and they sing together like family, a refreshing new/old sound, says Glen. Glenn will be leading a dobro workshop during the Jubilee from 1:00 to 2:00 in Room 4.

Banjo Workshop with Chad Davis


Chad starting playing banjo at the age of 14 after hearing an older gentleman at his church play. Chad taught himself to play the banjo using Earl Scruggs book. His biggest inuence during that time was J.D. Crowe. He then started attending local bluegrass festivals to jam and learn more. The rst bluegrass band that he was a member of was Blue Line from Chattanooga. He was a member of several other bands through the years before going back to college. After college, he started playing banjo with a group called Tymeline. Chad has created his own style of playing which he based on what he learned from his favorite banjo players, Ron Stewart and Ron Block. Chad has been playing with Adkins and Loudermilk for a little over a month now and is very excited about this new band and the journey they are about to begin. He now lives in Sparta, TN. Chad will be leading a banjo workshop during the Jubilee from 1:00 to 2:00 in Room 2.
