Grade level: K-3 Language Arts/ Reading

Objectives As a result of this lesson, students will be able to Pronounce, spell, define, and use vocabulary words in a story, song, or poem. Use vocabulary words in the correct content.

Materials vocabulary words list pencil highlighter Suggested Time: 1 Class period of 45minutes to an hour per class Procedures 1. Get the class attention by clapping hands five times. The class will respond by repeating claps. Teacher says "It's Monday Vocabulary Madness". 2. Students will pull out their three ring note book, pencil, and highlighter in e relevant preparation of receiving their weekly vocabulary list. 3. The teacher will proceed to pass a list of vocabulary words to each student with hole puncher. 4. The teacher will pronounce each vocabulary word. The students will repeat. 5. The teacher will write the pronunciation of each word on the board. The students will copy. 6. For the words that the students struggle to pronounce. The teacher will put the pronunciation the syllables using rhythm and clapping on the syllables. 7. The student will highlight the pronunciation of each word. For example: "What is word number one?"
