Commentary Script for Holy Thursday Theme: Jesus washes the feet of his disciples B.

General Introduction:
The ultimate humility was shown when the Son of Man bent down to wash the feet of his disciples. Jesus action was more than an example, it was a way of life. Are we able then to wash the feet of our brothers and sisters? Can we love our neighbors as we love ourselves? Are we ready to live life like Christ did?

C. Intro to The Prayer of the Faithful: We call Him Master and Lord, but he washed our feet. Therefore, we can bring unto Him our prayers and intentions in humility. D.The Prayer of the Faithful
Response: Lord, hear our prayer.

We pray for Pope Francis; his bishops, priests, and religious, that they may continue to inspire the Church to be like Christ through their actions, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

2.

We pray for the leaders of our nation, that they will lead the country in integrity and humility, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

3.

We pray for the upcoming elections that the just and righteous leaders would be chosen by the people, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

We pray for the RCIA elects preparing for their Baptism on Easter that they aspire to live Christian lives through their faith and obedience, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

We pray for the afflicted and the suffering, that they persevere through their hardships with the belief that everything is done in His time, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

6.

We pray for our youths, that they may be ever ready to wash the feet of others in their community as Christ did, we pray to the Lord. R: Lord hear our prayer.

We now pray for our own intentions in silence (pause for 10-15 seconds). We pray to the Lord.
