The women helped the war in many different ways. The women cooked, sewed and nursed the sick and wounded. They helped the men with the war by dressing up as men and fighting alongside the men.

Elizabeth Griscom she was the first one to sew the American flag. We all know her as Betsy Ross and she got married to John Ross. Her husband got killed in an explosion in Jan,1776.
