    Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and leader in the American civil rights movement. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and followed in his father's footsteps to become a minister. King married Coretta Scott and had four children. He helped organize the Montgomery Bus Boycott and was a leader of the nonviolent resistance movement. At age 35, King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the youngest recipient at that time. He was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee at age 39.

    His Early Life


    Martin Luther King Jr. was born
    Atlanta, Georgia. He was named
    after his father, Michael King.
    After his father changed his name
    to Martin he did too. When
    Martin was 12 years old his
    grandmother died of a hearth
    attack. Martin attended Brook T
    Washington High School. At age
    15 he went to Morehouse College,
    located in Atlanta.

    His Noble Act

    Martin Luther King Jr. Was a Baptist minister and he had an important role in the
    American Civil Rights Activist. He helped Rosa Parks during the Montgomery Bus
    Boycott. When he was 35 years old he was awarded with the noble peace prize
    making him the youngest to have received the prize. In the evening of April 4, 1968
    Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated.
