Advisory Circulars (ACs) The FAA issues advisory circulars to inform theaviation public in a systematic way of nonregulatorymaterial.

Unless incorporated into a regulation byreference, the contents of an advisory circular are not binding on the public. Airworthiness Directives (ADs) the FAA issues airworthinessdirectives in response to deficiencies and/or unsafeconditions found in aircraft, engines, propellers, orother aircraft parts. ADs, as they are known in theindustry, require that the relevant problem must becorrected on all aircraft or aircraft parts using the samedesign. Service Bulletins (SB) Throughout the life of a product (whether TCd ornot), manufacturing defects, changes in service, ordesign improvements often occur. When that happens, the OEM will frequently use an SB to distribute the information to the operator of the aircraft.SBs are goodinformation and should be strongly considered by theowner for implementation to the aircraft. However,SBs are not required unless they are referred to in anAD note or if compliance is required as a part of theauthorized inspection program.
