How To Install An Un-Signed 3rd Party Driver in Windows 8

I have a very old Knoica Minolta laser printer at home. And when I tried to install it on my newly installed Windows 8 machine, I was told that the driver cant be installed because the INF ile is not di!itally si!ned. It doesnt even !ive me the choice to !o ahead anyway. "o how can I bypass this restriction to have my un#si!ned driver installed$

%ere is what I i!ured and did to !et around it. First, press win + I to launch the charm bar, and clic& Change PC Settings at the bottom. 'hen, !o to General, and scroll to the bottom o the pa!e, clic& estart !ow button under Advan"ed Start#$ section. (emember to save all your wor& irst be ore clic&in! it. Note that on Windows 8.), the Advan"ed Start#$ option has moved to U$date and re"overy section under e"overy.

And then I was able to !et the Windows "ecurity warnin! window o erin! me to install this driver anyway.

It was success ul. (estart computer once a!ain to re#enable the di!ital si!n en orcement. I would su!!est chan!in! the /A+ settin!s irst to see i the Install Anyway window prompts out. 'he solution showin! o in this post should be the last resort to try out. And ma&e sure the driver you are about to install is sa e, thou!h not di!itally si!ned.
