1. A higher power objective lens has greater magnification than a lower

power objective lens. In what other way does the low-power objective
lens differ from the high-power objective lens?
High powered allows you to "zoom in" closer and see more detail, and a low
power allows a larger field of view with less detail.
2. What is the total magnification of a specimen when being viewed with
an objective lens with a magnification of 45x?
2025x
3. What is the magnification of the eyepiece?
Calculating total magnification is pretty simple. Take the magnification of the
eyepiece and multiply by the magnification of the objective.

4. Describe the position of the letter e when you placed it under the
microscope.
Its inverted
5. What happens to the field of view when you go from using a low-power
objective lens to a high-power objective lens?
It gets closer
6. What happens to the brightness when the magnification is changed
from low power to high power?
The field of view is inversely related to the magnification power...the greater
the magnification, the smaller the field of view
7. What happened to the letter e as you moved the slide to the left?
It moves to the right
8. What happened to the letter e as you moved the slide forward?
It goes down
9. What is the limit of resolution?
the capacity of an optical system to resolve point objects as separate
images.
10. Why do compound light microscopes have a limit of resolution?
because, light has a larger wavelength than electrons, this is why electrons
have a higher viewing resolution, because electron wavelength is smaller
11. Describe how the cheek cells looked under the microscope.
It should look like a typical animal cell
