University of Saint Joseph and Israeli College Announce Partnership


WHAT: The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and Max Stern College in Israel will sign a partnership agreement, featuring USJ President Pamela Trotman Reid, Ph.D., and President of Max Stern Academic College of Emek Yezreel, Dr. Ariela Lowenstein. According to President Reid, Our shared focus in the health sciences makes for an ideal collaboration as we continue to develop opportunities for our students to excel in the global health care arena. Additionally, USJ has a long commitment to the field of Gerontology, offering both an undergraduate minor and a graduate certificate program. Dr. Lowenstein, a world-renown Israeli gerontologist and author, will later in the day deliver a lecture on Active Aging and Intergenerational Solidarity, fo llowed by a book signing of her recent work (co-authored by Simon Briggs), Generational Intelligence. WHEN: WHERE: Partnership signing is Thursday, January 23, 11 a.m. University of Saint Joseph, Mercy Hall 1678 Asylum Avenue, West Hartford, CT The partnership between the two institutions continues USJs international recruitment initiative, which includes a partnership with Otsuma Womens University in Japan and HAN University in The Netherlands. Last spring, Dr. Reid visited Israel with the America-Israeli Friendship League, which followed trips to Saudi Arabia, China, Oman, Ghana, and Japan.
