Theme of Lecture: Scientific and educational aspects of digital tools in Music Dr. Micklisch will inform about research Projects and educational spinoffs of integrating digital media production (audio and visual) into the structure of studying Music in Oldenburg. The so called Medienmusikpraxis at Oldenburg was avantgarde in the seventies and is now one of the most developed university-programs in the northern part of Germany. A newly established MA called Integrated Media is very successful and more than 500 Music/Art Students profit from decades of knowledge and technical infrastructure. Main Topics of this ca 90 Minute Lecture mostly accompanied by practical showcases: - Structure of Medienmusikpraxis and Integrated Media. How to teach, what to teach and which equipment is used (Cubase/Protools/CS4, MSP-Max, NI Komplete, VSL Library etc..) - Research projects like 3D interactive Cave (virtual reality 3d surroundings), - Body and gesture Controllers (Trigger, IRCAM EoBody, Reactable/Reactivision) - Story Machine interactive Multimedia Stage for Children - Art Projects like experimental Video, producing Popmusic, Sounddesign, Vjing, Grooveboxing. Besides the informational Lecture and many Demonstrations/Videodocs there will be time given for asking and discussing.
