TODAY: Fire Station 45 Groundbreaking Ceremony


SAN DIEGO --- Interim Mayor Todd Gloria will break ground to commemorate the first ever new Fire Station 45 in west Mission Valley. The current firefighter crew has been housed in a temporary facility for the past seven years. The new Fire Station 45 will consist of construction of a new two-story, 16,290 square foot building with five bays and 16 dormitory rooms. Why: The new Fire Station 45 will be the first permanent fire station in Mission Valley and enhance the safety of residents and businesses in the west Mission Valley area. It will also provide the Fire-Rescue Department with the ability to house additional engines and firefighters as needed for future generations.
