Objective
Students will try to make a connection with the characters, even though the time periods are vastly di!erent. This connection will help students focus on the details in the story.

Students will connect with the literature by choosing a character which they feel they are alike in some way. Students practice informal writing by creating a introductory blog post of that character.

Materials
Teacher iPad Student iPads Penultimate app Student blog (this should have been created at the beginning of the year)

Procedures

Lead a ve minute recap discussion: Main events during homework reading Ask students to get out their iPads and then read aloud Act II Scenes III and IV in modern English while students follow along. Lead a discussion that touches on how the events happening in the play are di!erent or similar than events that would happen in current times. Direct the discussion at the characters specically and then ask students to choose a character whom they think they are most like Instruct students that they are going to create a blog for this character. It will be like a diary from that characters point of view, but it will use modern language. Today students will create and introduction blog entry for their chosen character, they should include personal things about their character- favorite things, background information, hobbies, etc

Homework
Read Act II Scenes V and VI, complete reading note summaries for the in class and homework in the Penultimate notebook.
