Time to Write
Objective
Students will use their knowledge to write an essay that supports their argument of which character is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

Students will use a self created outline to write a rough draft Students will peer edit and give constructive feedback Students will be able to write a proper formatted MLA persuasive essay Students will be able support their argument through examples in the text

Materials
Teacher iPad Student iPads Student create outline Pages app Class blog

Procedures
1.

(Day One) Instruct students that they are going to begin their nal essay. Their prompt isIdentify a character that you believe is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, support your claim with textual evidence, the essay must follow MLA formatting Let students know that they will use their paper outline and write for 40 minutes, then they will then trade papers and peer edit for 10 minutes When the students are done peer editing, they will then conference with each other for ve minutes about how to improve their papers and the strengths already evident (constructive feedback). (Day Two) Student work day, students must have a second peer edit for their full draft and complete the edits to the body of their paper and the formatting.

Day One- Complete paper draft and upload it to their class blog. Day Two- Complete nal paper and upload it to their class blog
