Core Values

We are committed to being...

...authentic. The Holy Spirit is present in our lives. Through His power we
move toward lives of perfect honesty, integrity, purity, and truth.
*through personal prayer and self-examination
*through small groups we hold ourselves and one another accountable
to growing in authenticity
*by keeping Christ before us as an example

...worship-filled. We believe that worship is a verb. We worship God not

only in the praise and thanksgiving we lift up on Sunday mornings, but in
every act we do individually and collectively.
*through faithful attendance and participate in corporate worship
*living life as an act of worship
*by faithfully observing the sacraments and other means of grace

...loving. We seek to be a church that is built on relationships. It begins in

the healing of our relationship with our Maker and extends to our
relationships with our neighbors.
*building and strengthening relationships in small groups
*to pray and care for others
*to make Christ's love known to other people
*to be welcoming to all people

...holy. We are called to lives of holiness (set apart for God's purposes),
both personal and social.
*to guard our hearts
*to bring Christ's healing to our communities and workplaces
*to surrender ourselves to God's purposes

...faithful to the Bible. As a church we are accountable to the Bible for

instruction, formation and guidance in our lives.
*study, teach, and live it
*to authentically preach the Word of God in its entirety

...Wesleyan in our heritage. We are in connection with our fellow United

Methodists through our Annual and General Conferences.
*we stress a Wesleyan inclusiveness that acknowledges God's desire
for all people to be reconciled to Him

...sacrificial. We seek to follow the example of our Lord in being self-giving

as individuals and as a community.
*time, gifts, talents
*mission, service and giving
...thankful. In every act -- in every decision we make -- we remember with
gratitude and thanksgiving that God has blessed us so we might be a
blessing to others.

...learning. We believe that nurture and discipleship is vital to our Christian

life.
*every disicple should be engaged in learning and growing in their faith
*small groups and Sunday School

...protective of its unity. We guard our unity by seeking to deal with

conflict in a biblical manner (Mt. 18). We do not gossip and refuse to listen to
gossip when it is practiced in our presence.
