PULULAHUA
The Geobotany Pululahua is 17 km north of Quito, near the Equator in the province of Pichincha in Ecuador. The reserve is located in the interior and on the slopes of the volcano of the same name. It has an area of 3383 hectares, the climate is moderately cold in the highlands and the northwest is temperate and subtropical, with temperatures ranging from 13-15 C.
It was declared a reserve for its geological condition and high biodiversity with about 2000 plant species diversity of birds, mammals and insects of exotic appearance on January 28, 1966
Los Andes has more than 2900 endemic species , many of these are in Pululahua and for this reason , is now a Geobotany Reserve, dense tree vegetation. Temperature: 0 to 27 C Annual Precipitation: 500 to 3000 mm
