What is FCCLA?
The only national career and technical student organization with the family as its central focus. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers and communities by addressing important personal, work and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
There are more than 220,000 young men and women in over 7,000 FCCLA chapters across the nation.

FCCLAs Mission
To promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through-character development creative and critical thinking interpersonal communication practical knowledge and vocational preparation
FCCLAs national programs address youth issues, and members are encouraged to take action in their school and community to address these important issues.

FCCLA Purposes
1. To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life. 2. To strengthen the function of the family as a basic unit of society. 3. To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community. 4. To encourage individual and group involvement in helping achieve global cooperation and harmony. 5. To promote greater understanding between youth and adults. 6. To provide opportunities for making decisions and for assuming responsibilities. 7. To prepare for the multiple roles of men and women in todays society. 8. To promote Family and Consumer Sciences education and related occupations.

How Do I Join?
Fill out the membership form. Return to Mrs. Cosper with your $15 dues. Listen to the bulletin and pay attention to upcoming events. Sign up for any projects or activities your interested in. Attend all club meetings to stay informed. Get involved!
Membership Incentives
The class with the most members by the last Wednesday of August gets milk & cookies! Members who have paid their dues by Sept. 6th are eligible for Silver Dollar City Career Day on Thursday, Sept. 26th! (yep- thats a school day) Members who have paid their dues by Oct. 1st are eligible to attend Regional Meeting on Oct. 10th @ MSSU. Recruit 3 people not in a FACS class and get a FREE chapter shirt.
