Rabies is fatal! Prevent Rabies! Protect yourself!

Humans get rabies through the bite or scratch of infected dogs or other mammals, such as cats or wild animals. Symptoms are fear of water and air; difficulty swallowing; and excess salivation. Symptoms can take more than four weeks to appear . A bite by a potentially rabid animal is a medical emergency! Bites to the face, neck or finger tips are most dangerous.

If bitten by a potentially rabid animal: Wash the wound with soap and water for at least five minutes. Consult a medical doctor immediately. In case of dog bites: If possible, observe the dog for 10 days. If it dies within 10 days, or you dont know its fate, you must get vaccinated. Preventing rabies is a social responsibility. Vaccinate your dogs and cats as recommended by your veterinary doctor .

Rabies is 100% fatal but it is easily preventable
