Professional Development (PD) Application Information 2013-2014 Important Dates

How to Apply for PD Funding


o o Choose the appropriate deadline and meeting date using the above tables; Complete the PD Application form located on My JAC Portal > Communities -> Committee -> click Professional Development; Complete your Letter of Intent. (Sample letters are on My JAC Portal); Print and sign the PD Application Form and have your Chair sign as well; Send your Letter of Intent, PD Application Form, and supporting documentation to the College Learning and Teaching Resource Centre, HS123.

How to Request a Reimbursement


A Decision Letter will advise you of the funding committees decision. If funding is granted, an advance of up to 75% of the grant may be available prior to the PD activity if: o o the PD activity is not a credit course; the calculated amount is $200.00 or more.

To request a monetary advance, sign and send the Decision Letter to the College Learning and Teaching Resource Centre, HS-123. PD Expenses will be reimbursed at the conclusion of the activity after you: o Complete, print, sign and submit the PD Expense Reimbursement Form with your original receipts to the College Learning and Teaching Resource Centre, HS-123. The PD Expense Reimbursement Form is available on My JAC Portal; Complete, save, then email your saved Abstract Form as an attachment to: professional.development@johnabbott.qc.ca The Abstract Form is available on My JAC Portal.

Authorization to be absent for professional development Faculty who will be absent from the college for a professional development activity during class time must attach the Authorization to be absent for professional development form to their application explaining how classes or course material will be covered. The Authorization to be absent for professional development form is available on My JAC Portal For additional information regarding Professional Development funding criteria, eligibility, amounts available, etc., consult the FPDC Guidelines on My JAC Portal.

Cheques are sent through internal mail.
