Dear Parents,

Costa Rica 2014 Immunization and Vaccine Information

We are less than 70 days until we leave for our Costa Rica adventure. It is recommended that 6 weeks prior to leaving, or more, you consult with your medical practitioner about immunizations and vaccinations. According to the Government of Canada public health website there are no required vaccinations or immunizations required for travelers coming from Canada. However, each student is unique and your child may have unique situations that may require a different course of action. All students should consult with their doctor at least 6 weeks prior to our departure. Below is a link to the Government of Canada website. It may be easier for you to go to the website and click on the above link instead of trying to type this link in by hand. Note: Please ensure your regular vaccinations are up to date. Canada is not a country where yellow fever occurs and as such documentation of vaccination is not required.

Flight itinerary may be subject to scheduling changes from the airlines.

The flight itinerary has us staying the night in Toronto on the way to, and on the way from, Costa Rica. This gives us a unique opportunity to have some exploration time in Toronto on the way there. The plan is to take the kids to an interesting district in Toronto (still to be determined) and have them eat dinner and perhaps do some shopping or partake in an educational opportunity. We will have a discussion with the students regarding this time and any feedback/suggestions from parents is always welcome.
