All middle school students will take one semester of health in seventh grade. Health class consists of the five following units: Physical Health and Nutrition Disease and ody care !ental and emotional wellness Su stance use and a use "e#roductive health and human se$uality %rades are determined y the scores earned from: &. All students are e$#ected to e on time to class. <his means in their seat with material when class egins. !aterials for health include #a#er= writing tool= any assignments or handouts needed for the day and their +ournal .most are left in class0. <hese items must e rought daily if they are re#eatedly missing the student will lose class #artici#ation #oints. All school guidelines should e followed in class so that >8A"N?N% is our class focus. @ork is acce#ted for full credit on its due date. ? reserve the o#tion to reduce the grade for consistently late or e$cessively late work. The Student is responsible for missed work. <hose students who do well in health consistently do Auality work that they are #roud of and reflect a genuine effort. All students are e$#ected to actively #artici#ate in class every day. <his means that students contri ute ver ally and coo#eratively to a #ositive classroom environment and are res#ectful of the diverse differences in culture= values and o#inions of A>> class mem ers. All students will com#lete a research ased health #ro+ect on drugs. <his will e an in:class #ro+ect done with com#uters. ? will do my est to guide them in this #ro+ect. ?n the #ast the results have een really cool and students have en+oyed it.
