see the film unaccompanied by an adult, but if a film is rated 12A then children need to be accompanied. The A stands for Accompanied/ Advisory, so children younger than 12 can see the film while accompanied by an adult; who must watch the film with them. We chose to class our film as a 12A rather than a PG as we have real life themes that very young children may not understand so by classing our film as a 12A anyone can watch it, including young children around the age of 10 if their parents think its suitable. There are many factors that affect deciding if a film should be classified as a 12A, such as strong language, sex, violence, horror and imitable behaviour (dangerous behaviour) or drugs etc. THE HIT Strong Language: There is no use of strong language in our short film. Sex: There is no sexual activity shown in our short film. Nudity: There is no use of nudity. Discrimination: There will be no discriminatory language or behaviour used within our short film. Violence: There is no violence or sexual violence shown in our short film. Horror: As our film is a drama there is no use of horrific or disturbing scenes used.

Imitable Behaviour or drugs: There is no imitable behaviour such as self-harm or suicide used or any use of drugs in our short film. Our production is classed as a 12A as it contains no scenes of violence and doesnt dwell on the detail, there are no major injuries or blood and there are also no weapons present. There is no strong language, sexual scenes, horror or imitable behaviour. A child below 12 is more likely to copy the actions within the film whereas age12 and above arent likely. As the majority of our production doesnt contain many of the factors above, it is suitable to be classified as a 12.
