Purpose
The purpose of this article was to inform readers about the increase in copyright infringement and the balance between creator and public interests. People of all ages are utilizing the Internet for various purposes.

Question
What constitutes Internet copyright? What is intellectual property? What age group is committing the most copyright infringement violations? What laws are in place to prevent copyright infringement?

Information
Copyright takes effect immediately upon a works creation. Copyright laws dont have complete power to

prevent all uses of original work from being copied

or distributed. Fair use allows documents to be copied or distributed without the owners consent.

Inferences
Young adults and teenagers are committing the most copyright infringement violations in schools working on various types of academic projects.

Most of them are not aware that they are

committing these infractions.

Point of View
Appropriate Pricing- most people would pay a small fee if it is considered a fair price. Blanket Download Tax- Bruce Simpson imposed a blanket fee for the right to download and copy original works. Peer to Peer/Distribution Sites- easy way to access works at an affordable price.

Assumptions
Theres no such thing as international copyright law. If Digital Rights Technologies (DRM) and solutions improve, various types of copyrighted materials will be positively impacted.

Concepts
Created on or after 1 January 1978- authors life plus 70 years. Created before 1978 but not published. Created and published or registered before 1978- rules vary depending on the specific dates

involved.

Implications
Existing copyright laws and policing methods are not very effective as presently constituted. We could see reduced instances of copyright infringement cases among Internet users by utilizing a plethora of options.
