 Water pollutants occurs when water is polluted when waste thrown into it. Polluted water is no longer suitable for living things.

WATER POLLUTANTS
Industrial waste: chemical residues (acidic and alkaline solutions) and radioactive substances. Mud and silt caused by the construction industries and logging activities. Chemical substances in agriculture: pesticides, chemical fertilizers and agricultural wastes ( latex and oil palm) Oil spills from accidents involving oli tankers or oil from petrol stations that are poured into the drains. Domestic wastes: rubbish, animal carcasses and faeces.

 Marine lifes will die Diseases can spread This can back to hurt humans by eating the marine lifes which have the diseases by the water pollution

Purrication of water
Filtration: river or well water is filtered before being sent to consumers at home.(removes suspended particles from the water)

 Boiling: Piped water or well water is boiled before drinking. Surgical equipment is sterilised in boiling water to kill microorganisms.

 Distillation: Helps to produce pure water.

 Chlorination: Piped water that has been filtered at a treatment plant will have chlorine addeed to kill microorganisms.

Ways of Conserving Water

Bathe by showering. Wash clothes in big quantities. Wash vegetables in a big basin. Repair all the leaking pipes immediately. Turn off the tap when not in use. Use a watering can to water plants.

Recycling waste products which can still be used. Heavy penalties for parties who break the laws on environmental pollution.
