Appellant files written notice to NASCAR AA for final appeal to Final Appeals Officer (FAO).

Penalized party files written notice to NASCAR Appeals Administrator (AA) for an appeal to be heard. AA decides if to defer all or part of the penalty until the appeal is resolved. Points may not be deferred. Public release of decision. COMPETITOR LOSES APPEAL

AA decides if to defer all or part of the penalty until final appeal heard. Points may not be deferred.

Public release of decision. COMPETITOR WINS APPEAL

AA works with Competitor/ Team and FAO to schedule hearing.

Appellant has burden to show Appeals Panel did not follow rules. FAO makes ruling.

COMPETITOR LOSES APPEAL

10 DAYS $500 AA works with Competitor/Team and Appeals Panel to schedule hearing. NASCAR has burden of showing violation of rules. Majority of three Appeals Panel members make ruling.

COMPETITOR WINS APPEAL

NASCAR NOT ALLOWED TO APPEAL THE APPEALS PANEL DECISION
